Has Any Player Come Close To Beating Dixie Dean’s 60 Goal Record?

Dixie Dean’s record of 60 goals in a single season still stands and this month the 90th anniversary of the 60th goal passed.

In honour of the greatest goal scorer in footballing history, we took a look at those who have come halfway towards meeting his seemingly unattainable record.

In his own words when asked if his record could ever be broken Dixie said;

“I think it will. But there’s only one man who’ll do it. That’s the fellow that walks on the water. I think he’s about the only one.”
